I grew up around people who worked with their hands. Carpenters, mechanics, guys who could fix a roof before lunch and rewire a panel before dinner. Trade work is real work — it has a beginning, a middle, an end, and a customer who can point at the result. I have enormous respect for it.
What I don't have respect for is most of the marketing industry around it. Trades get sold $5,000 websites that take six months and never quite ship. They get locked into 12-month "growth retainers" with agencies that won't return a call. They get charged for every comma. I watched too many great operators lose jobs to worse competitors with slicker sites and I decided to build the opposite shop.
